Lift the wick.

Before lighting, check that the wick is upright and exposed. If it has folded into the wax, gently lift it with the VANA wick dipper when it can move freely.

Do not force the wick through hardened wax or dig into the candle. Follow the instructions supplied with your tools.

A little trim.

Before every burn, trim the wick to 5–6 mm (about ¼ inch) with the VANA wick trimmer. Make sure the candle is cool, and clear away the trimmings before lighting.

Strike a little light.

We recommend VANA Made in Sweden Safety Matches. Each 9.5 cm match offers extra reach, keeping your fingers farther from the flame as you light the wick.

Keep the candle upright on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Bring the match to the wick, without tilting the candle.

Make sure the match is fully extinguished before disposing of it. Keep matches away from children.

A gentle goodnight.

Gently lower the VANA snuffer over the flame to extinguish it. This avoids blowing onto melted wax and helps reduce wax splashes.

Check that the wick is fully out. Let the wax and glass cool before moving the candle. Never use water to put it out.
